Compassion on the Sand
Do you ever feel attached to wildlife? Invest so much of yourself that feel...one with it all?

We’ve had quite a week at our Long Beach shore.
The oystercatchers have been sitting on eggs at two locations. strollers stop at the boardwalk's railing to peek with Nikons or the naked eye. Binoculars are adjusted to try to catch a glimpse of fuzz beneath a wing.
"When are they due?" the strollers often ask each other, as if it were family out there on the open sand. And for some of us it almost is family. For others still, it IS family...the family of life on Earth.
