Crappy Christmas

I love Long Beach, and all the people who share it with me. Well—almost all.

When we walk the streets of Long Beach with our pooch, Scout, we enjoy the heart people show in their home’s decor. Whether it’s Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas, it’s love that’s offered to all of us.

But we are sad to see some who decorate our streets with poop or bags of poop.

It just ain’t right!

Almost all of us pick up after out dogs and dispose of it properly. But some don’t get the message. Some leave the leavings right on a sidewalk, some on neighbors’ lawns or in their gardens. Others think they’ve done their "doody” by bagging it and leaving it for someone else.

Sometimes if it’s egregious, we pick up someone’s flagrancy off the sidewalk, or if it’s near our own dog’s pick-up.

Some people, including my sweetheart, Cheryl, pick up other trash while they're at it: plastic bags, Solo cups, string, ribbons, or those ubiquitous plastic water bottles. We see one woman who does that every time we see her.

Bless you, young lady.

On the median, at the East side of Neptune and Bway, someone constantly deposits their poop filled bags. We took a mess of them off there not long ago. Now, they are at it again. See photo, Dept of Sanitation.

Please, dog lovers of Long Beach, join the rest of us.

For a better Christmas by the Sea

dispose of poop—properly.

Be well,
