Customs: Woman Smuggled Cocaine in Suitcase Handles at JFK

Officials found $45,000 of cocaine inside suitcase handles, said CBP.

A woman tried to smuggle drugs into John F. Kennedy Airport inside rails on her suitcase handles, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Chevelle Rusheen Nesbeth had arrived from Montego Bay in Jamaica Tuesday and was stopped while going through inspection, said Customs. Officers noticed hand rails on her luggage were “unusually dense” and brought her to a private room for further inspection, officials said.
