
Ezio Pinza is mostly remembered for creating the lead role in Rogers and Hammerstein’s musical South Pacific, and the song, “Some Enchanted Evening,” for which he won the 1950 Tony Award. But Pinza also had a 34 year operatic career, and was a favorite on the concert stage and on radio and television.
