Kickin' Country has Food Drive for Disabled Vets


Artists in Partnership, Inc., in collaboration with the Long Beach Public Library, is pleased to present  "Kickin' Country on the Barrier Beach-November 12th and 13th, 2011,  a weekend of Country music, Dancing and Crafts for the family.

All events are FREE, but we are requesting that you please bring non-perishable food, canned goods and toiletries to be collected and distributed to disabled veterans and families through Long Island CARES Mobile Pantry for the upcoming holidays. Collection of food and items begins Nov. 1st and items can be dropped off at the Long Beach Public Library, 111 West Park Ave. Long Beach, New York.

On Saturday, November 12th, join us  for the WellDiggers, a New York based roots-rock, Americana style band founded by singer/songwriter, guitarist, Steve Welner.  Their sound resides within a musical landscape that encompasses folk, rock, country-blues, and bluegrass.   Either individually, or with bands this group of experienced musicians have played with, or shared a stage with the likes of Pete Seeger, Graham Parker, Levon Helm, Chip Robinson, and others.

On Sunday, Nov. 13th at 1:30 Bring the Family to the Library auditorium as we welcome award-winning recording artist and guitarist Paul Helou for an exciting, interactive musical concert weaving songs with movement, dance, storytelling and improvisation. Children will be dancing, clapping and part of the show as Paul sings about country, animals, and good vibes. The first 25 youngsters will receive a FREE Cowboy hat. Our Country Crafts and face-painting begins at 2:30 in the Youth Services Room.

Grab you partner and get ready to "kick-up your Country heels" at 2:30 when Long Island's own, "County-Line Band" and "Carol Boots" bring you an afternoon of live Country music and dancing instruction to your favorite tunes by Johnny Cash, Steve Earle, Keith Urban, Dwight Yoakum and many others.
