Memorial Day Parade

Long Beach's annual Memorial Day Parade will be on May 30 starting at 9:30 a.m. at Ohio Avenue and West Beech Street. The parade will feature about 5,000 marching participants and over 50 veteran groups, music and other community organizations. The parade will continue down Park Avenue and go past the reviewing stand at City Hall.  Officials will be laying memorial wreaths at the Veterans Memorial Wall.

The City of Long Beach will also be paying a special tribute to Vietnam veterans during the annual parade.

"This year we honor Vietnam Veterans who will lead the line of march and be our 'Grand Marshal' for the city's annual parade,” said Long Beach City Council President Thomas R. Sofield, Jr. in a recent press release from the city. “Long Beach duly recognizes the 1,600 Long Beach men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice in World War II and all the successive wars we fought in for our freedom.”
