MENDELSSOHN’S MASTERPIECE

Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto is technically challenging, undeniably beautiful, and one of the most popular pieces in the violin repertoire. Audiences can rediscover the concerto’s lush melodies and effervescent energy when guest artist Katia Popov joins Music Director Enrique Arturo Diemecke and the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra to perform “Mendelssohn’s Masterpiece” on March 10, 2012, at the Terrace Theater in Long Beach.

Also on the program is Dvorak’s Slavonic Dances (Nos. 1& 4) and Schubert’s Symphony D.944, “The Great C major.”

Tickets are $25 to $85. Student rush tickets are available for $10 with valid I.D., 90 minutes prior to the performance. For more information, call (562) 436-3203, or visit LBSO.org.
