
Growing up in the fifties we somehow survived going from home to ANYWHERE without a plastic bottle of water in hand.
If in our trek across the perilous desert of New York City, thirst ensued, we either waited till we got where we were going or stopped for a drink at a water fountain, a candy store, a vending machine. Usually we just waited till we go where we were going. Wow! Talk about hardship!
Today, in preparation for our journey across Mohave Malls, many of us load cases of bottled water into our SUVs, then lug them into our homes or stack them in our garage fridge.

An under-sink water filter pays for itself quickly and the pure water flows, well…like water. Water that can even be put into a slim thermos and toted across the plains. Or Plainview. Thus no plastic container to toss away.
The plastic bottles that too often end up on our ocean shores are eyesores, that's bad. But other plastics like grocery bags, six pack rings, ribbons and monofilament can be deadly to our shore life.
