Free Opiate Overdose Training Seminar Set For This Week
Learn the signs of an opiate overdose and how to administer the the life-saving drug naloxone.

Assemblywoman Melissa Miller and Rescue Company No. 1 of Oceanside will host an overdose prevention and Naloxone training program this week, and the free program is open to all residents.
The training will be held on Jan. 10 at Rescue Company No. 1, located at 2814 Tilrose Ave. in Oceanside. The program will teach facts and statistics about overdoses, how to prevent them, how to identify the symptoms of opioid abuse and how to administer Narcan, the lifesaving antidote. Attendees over the age of 18 will receive a free, nasal Naloxone kit.
Registration is required as seating is limited, so please call Miller’s district office at 516-431-0500 to reserve your seat.
