Fundraiser Started to Create Scholarship in Memory of Long Beach Resident
The scholarship will be created in honor of 23-year-old Sam Mignoli, who passed away on Monday.

A fundraising campaign was recently launched to raise money for a scholarship fund in honor of a 23-year-old Long Beach resident who passed away on Monday.
The money raised on the GoFundMe page created will go towards a memorial scholarship fund in memory of Sam Mignoli.
The scholarship money will be awarded to a young hockey goalie to attend the Mitch Corn Goalie Camp, where Mignoli was a "proud and passionate instructor," according to the page created by Marie Mignoli Lombardi.

Since the page was created on Tuesday, a total of $3,635 has been raised. The goal is to raise $5,000.
"Thank you all so very much for the love and support you have shown and expressed at this most difficult time," Lombardi wrote on the page.
