Fuzzballs
You've heard of some fantastic people on our planet…but you may not have known about this Long Island lady.

Our Long Beach shore has been a source of drama these days, and years past, with the constant threat to our little “fuzzball” oystercatcher chicks.
If you live in Long Beach you’ve seen the orange stake or cones encircling sitting oystercatchers, followed by the tiny chicks that appear in May and June. People line the boardwalk rails to view the white-sand Broadway drama right off our “balcony.”
But this year the threat is even more ominous with the heavy construction on top of the daily attacks by predator gulls, dogs, kids too.

We’ve had some blood shed on the sands recently and only through the networking of local citizens did a rescue of a wounded bird come about.
That led me to a very interesting lady who, for twenty-five years has been caring for creatures, big and small.

They are creatures of the wild and if they get injured or die, it’s natures way you might say. But some of us like to help the little fuzzballs get a start in life. We think it sends a message of compassion that can carry on in other areas of life. And I think we can use a message like that right now. You might want to consider supporting that effort.
Take a look at a lady who is bent on “turning the ugly around.”:
