Give Back At The Long Beach Winter Blood Drive

The City of Long Beach is going end the year with a winter blood drive on Thursday, Dec. 28 at the Ice Arena.

Barrier Island residents are encouraged to come down and make a donation. The drive will be happening from 2 to 8 p.m. at the arena, located at 150 West Bay Drive.

To donate blood, you must be in good health, weight at least 110 pounds and be over 16 years old. Teens under 16 can still donate, but they need a parent's permission. If you are 76 or over, you'll need a note from your doctor. Also, you cannot have had any tattoos in the last year.

Make sure to eat before you go to help stop you from getting light headed.
