Happy Hours, Magical Minutes

We are overwhelmed with the TV's blasts of stats: tests-positive, hospitalizations, ventilations...deaths.

New York was the first to find itself overwhelmed. Now it's the state to have truly flattened the curve of the misery. But wait, other states that have not followed the recommendations are now where we were. And they are threatening to bring us back to more misery.

Even if we are fortunate enough to avoid this Covid scourge, we find ourselves in mental suffering from anxiety, from fear, of its finding its way to us, to our families. We wear masks; we keep distances, we wash our hands, again and again. It takes a toll on us.

Taking a vacation would be fantastic but isn't practical. There are planes involved, and hotels, and...others. Yes, those others.

But we need a change, some newness to our lives. Some bliss would be wonderful. Well, I found it. And it's right near us. The secret isn't so much the place as the time to visit.
