A Happy Place
Is there more to a shore walk than exercise, taking photos, getting a tan? Maybe there is a lot more.

I met a woman who doesn’t live in Long Beach but treks our shores way more often than many of my Long Beach neighbors, neighbors who live just a clam shell’s toss from the beach.
She’s drawn to our shore as if a magnetic force is pulling her. I think she’s under its influence because she finds relief here again and again. A certain “magic" is experienced, where pain is relieved both psychological and physical.
We all have gone through such pain, some of us handle it with denial, anger, booze, drugs, or any number of "medications”. But some of us find a Way to find respite, solace, peace in a natural way, even if it’s just for a brief time. But it does sustain us, gets us through life’s trials. She shared her thoughts with me. And I’m sharing them with you:
