How to Beat the Heat in Long Beach This Week
Stay cool at the beach, pool, ice rink and other locations.

If you didn’t know, it’s going to be scorching hot this week.
Here's some ways that Long Beach residents can keep cool as temperatures rise:
- Go to one of these local beaches including where the lifeguards will be on duty for an extra hour, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.: Town Park Point Lookout, Lido Beach Town Park, Lido West Town Park, Town Park at Sands, East Atlantic Beach, Atlantic Beach Estates, Point Lookout Civic Beach.
- Take a dip at the Town Park at the Sands Pool in Lido Beach, which will close at 7 p.m. this week.
- Visit the nearby Town of Hempstead cooling center at the Oceanside Senior Center on 2900 Rockaway Avenue Oceanside which will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26 through Friday, July 29.
- Check out the newly renovated New York Beach Club on 1751 Ocean Boulevard in Atlantic Beach.
- Skate at the City of Long Beach Municipal Ice Arena, located at 150 West Bay Drive at the Recreation Campus.
