ICYMI: Bicyclist Critically Injured After Crashing Into Van in Lido Beach

LIDO BEACH, NY - A 35-year-old man is in critical condition after his bicycle collided with a van in Lido Beach Wednesday afternoon, Nassau Police said.

According to police, the bicyclist from Far Rockaway was riding west on the north side of Lido Boulevard when his bike struck the passenger side of a van that was making a left turn into the driveway of Lido Golf Club at about 4:28 p.m.

The bicyclist, who police did not identify, suffered a severe head injury and was transported to an area hospital, where he is currently listed in critical condition.

The driver’s van was brake checked at the scene and released back to him. No criminal charges will be filed as the investigation continues.
