Leap to Death...or Stand for Life
For years most of us found some solace that the horror stories we read in the news was far from our way of life. Not so much today.

I admit to some complacency in thinking about drugs, addiction, and the horrors they visit upon individuals and families. It was all about the marginalized, the poor, the crime-ridden neighborhoods. Not about suburban living. Not about…us.
We were a bit above it all. Sure there were some who dabbled in pot, or even had problems with alcohol. But the serious life-threatening addictions were far from home. It was “safely” in the “bad” sections.
But the bad has come home to roost. It begins innocuously...a little help to get over hurdles. But the help become hurdles themselves. Sometimes hurdles many of us cannot overcome…even to the point of death:
