Life and the Sea
Sometimes our Long Beach shore looks empty, when it's actually quite full.

It was an off-season experience on Long Beach shore so of course I didn’t expect much in the way of attendance. But when I looked at it from the dune crossover where I entered, it was desert like.
But that can be good too, for me.
I set up my camp chair. I like a camp a chair, or director’s chair, for the side table that accommodates my camera when it’s at rest. The height too is an advantage, I don't have to rise from the sand to stand, as one does with a sand chair.

Step by step the shore came alive: first, came a sea scene that caused me to put my camera down and just absorb it. Moments like this grab me and I'm sure, many of you.
Then the birds, so many of them. Then the dolphins. Then the very unusual strolling man, and the young lady who soon sat near me. Then a young lady who took an artful photo of that empty directors chair.

It was if they were "acting in concert," to use a term from my crime fighting days. But they were not engaged in crime, no, it was if they were sent here to provide blog fodder to a starving writer.
Together they gave me much to think about, and together they eventually became one to me.
So I’m here to show you the photos and share my observations of that very fine day on Long Beach shore.https://leebythesea.me/2020/10/14/life-and-the-sea/
Be well,
