Long Beach City Clerk Holding Food Drive

You can help to feed hundreds of hungry Long Islanders.

Now through March 8, the Long Beach City Clerk's office is taking part in an Island-wide food drive, and residents are encouraged to drop off food to help feed Long Islanders.

The clerk's office is working in conjunction with the Long Island Village Clerks & Treasurers Association, which routinely holds food drives. The city will be accepting donations now through March 8 in the clerk's office, located on the third floor of City Hall at 1 West Chester St.

The collected food will be donated to Island Harvest, which helps feed children and families across Long Island. Since it started the annual food drive in 2012, the Village Clerks & Treasurers Association says it has helped to provide more than 35,000 meals to Long Islanders in need.
