Long Beach Girl Scouts Holding Blood Drive Sunday, June 10

As part of their Bronze Award project, the girls are working to help the community.

On Sunday, June 10, the members of Girl Scout Troop 2178 will be holding a blood drive at St. Mary of the Isle.

Community members are welcome to come and donate. The drive is part of the project the girls are doing for their Bronze Award.

The drive will be held at the Parish Center, located at 312 East Park Ave., from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

To donate blood, you must be in good health, weigh at least 110 pounds and be over 16 years old. Teens under 16 can still donate, but they need a parent's permission. If you are 76 or over, you'll need a note from your doctor. Also, you cannot have had any tattoos in the last year.

Make sure to eat before you go to help stop you from getting light headed.
