Long Beach Holding Blood Drive Today

The coronavirus has created a drastic shortage of blood supplies. Your donation could save a life.

LONG BEACH, NY — If you are still in the giving spirit this holiday season, the City of Long Beach is holding a blood drive today.

The blood drive will be held from 2 to 6:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Senior Center, located at 650 Magnolia Blvd.

According to the New York Blood Center, the coronavirus pandemic has created a chronic shortage of blood for hospitals in the area. Your donation could save a life.

Donors must arrive wearing a face mask and will have their temperature taken. You cannot donate if you are currently in self quarantine, or if you have had a positive coronavirus tests or symptoms of the virus in the last 14 days. If you have recovered from the coronavirus, you must be symptom-free for 14 days in order to donate.

Appointments for donations are preferred. Call (516) 478-5363 to make an appointment. Walk-ins will be allowed, if space permits, but appointments are preferred.
