Next weekend, the City of Long Beach and the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to host a city-wide scavenger hunt, with a grand prize of a trip to Puerto Rico.

The hunt will be held on Saturday, April 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. starting at Kennedy Plaza in front of City Hall, located at 1 West Chester St. The scavenger hunt will take teams across the city searching for clues, finding out facts about the area, visiting local businesses and more. And it's happening rain or shine.

Those who are interested in competing should make a team of four to six people and register here. Children under 18 need a parent or guardian with them. There is a registration fee of $12 per person.

The hunt will be run through the CITY HUNT app, which will give teams all of the clues and challenges they need, and will also provide a leader board, a spy mode and special offers from local businesses.

However, residents are going to have to get around on foot in order to participate. Cars, taxis, Ubers and other motorized forms of transportation aren't allowed. You'll have to do it on foot or on bicycle, or you can use the trolley provided by the city.
