Long Beach Holding Meeting On 530 Broadway Development
The plan calls for redeveloping the former Hebrew Academy of Long Beach building into a condominium.

LONG BEACH, NY — The City of Long Beach Zoning Board of Appeals will be holding a virtual hearing for the development plan for the former Hebrew Academy of Long Beach building on Thursday, June 4 at 7 p.m.
The hearing will provide updates on the draft environmental impact statement (DEIS) and zoning processes for the building at 530 West Broadway, which is being developed into a condominium by 73rd Meridian Partners LLC. The public will be able to view the hearing on the City of Long Beach’s YouTube channel.
The hearing will serve as an informational session for city officials to update residents on the current progress of the project and instruct the public on how to view and navigate the DEIS. Although there won’t be any public comment during the session, residents are invited and encouraged to submit comments online from now through close of business on Friday, July 3.

“In light of the ongoing public health crisis, we wanted to ensure that our residents have the information necessary to access and review the DEIS for the proposed development so they may have a full and fair opportunity to make meaningful comments. By making this week’s hearing accessible and leaving the public comment period open to July 3, we encourage the public to engage at their convenience so that their voices can be heard,” said City of Long Beach Corporation Counsel Simone M. Freeman.
A transcript of the hearing will be made available after the meeting to also help inform any feedback or comments. All comments submitted by the public will be reviewed by the board and made public online.
