Long Beach to Host Next Year's Long Island Pride Weekend

Officials announced they will be hosting the event in June 2017.

LONG BEACH, NY - City of Long Beach officials recently announced that they will be hosting the LGBT Network’s 27th annual Long Island Pride event next year.

The event is scheduled for June 9 to June 11, 2017 and will consist of a festival, concert, 5K, parade, and other family friendly events

“We are thrilled to partner with the City of Long Beach,” LGBT Network CEO David Kilmnick said. “Our event just keeps getting better every year, and we are truly excited to bring next year’s festivities to the south shore for the first time. The City, the Chamber of Commerce, and the community have been extremely supportive, allowing us to transform the event into a weekend-long celebration.”

The LGBT Network, an association of non-profit organizations working to serve the LGBT community of Long Island and Queens, launched the event in 1991.

“The Long Island Pride Weekend is a great opportunity for families all across Long Island to celebrate the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community that has contributed so much to make Long Island such a great place to live,” City Council Vice President Anthony Eramo said. “For over a quarter century, Long Island Pride has been bringing people together from all over Nassau and Suffolk Counties, and next year Long Beach is lucky to host what is sure to be a great event.”
