Long Beach Kicks Off Holidays With Tree Lighting

Families can come to Kennedy Plaza for fun and treats before watching the tree being lit.

Get ready to ring in the holidays next week, when the City of Long Beach starts the season with the Annual Kennedy Plaza Christmas Tree Lighting.

The fun starts at 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30. Families can arrive early to enjoy arts and crafts, stories, cookies, hot chocolate, pretzels, pop corn and more, all under a tent in Kennedy Palza.

After all the fun, the lighting ceremony will kick off at 6 p.m. with carols, followed by the tree being lit with hundreds of multi-colored lights.

And, of course Santa Claus will be making an appearance (with some help from the Long Beach Fire Department).
