LONG BEACH, NY — The City of Long Beach announced today that it was lifting all bicycling restrictions for the boardwalk.

The boardwalk was closed earlier this year during the height of the coronavirus shutdowns. When it reopened, bicycling was only allowed in the morning and evening hours.

In June, the city expanded the restrictions to allow cyclists on the boardwalk at any time during the weekday, but bicycles were still prohibited on the weekends.

Now, the city is lifting all restrictions on cycling. If the boardwalk is open, you can ride. However, social distancing requirements are still in place. If you can't stay at least six feet from other people, you must wear a mask.
