Long Beach, Oceanside Honors Fallen NYPD Officer

NYPD Officer from Long Island honored by local emergency workers.

Long Beach-area law enforcement and emergency services are honoring the memory of Officer Brian Moore, an NYPD officer from Long Island who lost his life Monday.

Oceanside Fire Department hung New York Police Department flags on their trucks Monday in honor of Brian Moore, of Massapequa, who succumbed to his injuries after being shot over the weekend. The department also added blue lines to their trucks in his honor.

“Officers and Members of The Oceanside Fire Department would like to extend their condolences to Officers Moore’s family and his NYPD family,” they wrote on Facebook. “THANK YOU OFFICER MOORE for you selfless sacrifice and service, MAY YOU FORVER REST IN PEACE.”

Long Beach Fire Department added their condolences when they announced his death “with a heavy heart.”

“We send out prayers to the family, friends, and NYPD,” they said.

“These thin blue lines can be found on a vast majority of our apparatus,” wrote Long Beach Fire Department on Facebook Thursday. “The thin blue line represents all law enforcement officers who have given their lives protecting ours. We stand together with our brothers and sisters in blue!”
