Long Beach To Open Beach To Non-Residents This Weekend

LONG BEACH, NY — The city announced that it will be opening its beaches seven days a week starting this weekend, as well as offering some beach passes to non-residents on a trial basis.

Starting Saturday, June 27, the city will be opening Ocean Beach Park for seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The beach will be staffed by lifeguards during those hours. This will last until Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 7.

In addition, the city will also start selling non-resident daily beach passes on Saturday. The city says the passes will be sold until the beaches reach the 50 percent capacity mandated by the state. Non-resident season passes will not be sold.

The non-resident day passes will only be sold at the entry points at Long Beach Boulevard, Riverside Boulevard, Edwards Boulevard, National Boulevard, Magnolia Boulevard and Laurelton Boulevard.

Resident daily and season passes can no only be purchased at the Beach Park Trailer, located at 300 West Broadway. Passes will no longer be available at the Bayfront or at the Magnolia Boulevard Gazebo.

Non-residents are encouraged to visit the city's social media pages before coming out to find out if the beaches are at capacity.
