LONG BEACH, NY — The city announced this week that it was reopening both City Hall and the pool to the community.

City Hall is currently open to the public now, albeit with some restrictions. The pool is scheduled to reopen on Monday.

City Hall had closed to the public in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. The new hours open to the public will be 9 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. Anyone who needs to come to City Hall should first call the department they are going to visit and make an appointment.

Anyone who comes into City Hall will need to wear a mask, and will have their temperature checked. No more than two people will be allowed in an office at one time, and only two people may be in an elevator at once.

The city pool is opening on Monday, Aug. 3, and will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It will be closed on Sundays. The pool will only be open for members of the facility for lap swimming only.

All pool members will need to make a reservation by calling (516)431-3890 Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. You can make up to three reservations per week for 45 minute swim sessions. Each session will begin on the half hour and allow 45 minutes of swimming and 15 minutes of cleaning between sessions. Only 12 people will be allowed during each session.

Members will not be able to use the locker rooms, steam rooms, cardio room or gym. Restrooms will be available, but members should come to the pool ready to swim. Members should use the north side entrance by the parking lot.

Once you arrive, a staff member will show you to your designated lane. Masks must be warn at all times when not in the water.
