LONG BEACH, NY — The pipes of Long Beach are getting a fall flushing. The twice-a-year cleansing helps to remove sediments from the system for proper water pressure.

It will take place from Nov. 4-Nov. 18.

Residents and businesses may experience low pressure or water discoloration during the 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. flushing.

Avoid doing laundry during the flushing and run cold water for up to three minutes to make sure the water is clear.

The flushing process starts on Edwards Boulevard and moves east and west. Each day, the city will update the schedule on its website and on social media.
