LONG BEACH, NY — The City of Long Beach is making preparations for Tropical Storm Isaias, which is expected to hit Long Island on Tuesday.

The storm is expected to bring high winds and heavy rains to the area, and a storm surge of about two feet. This could cause flooding in low-lying areas.

City crews are out now clearing storm drains. Residents are encouraged to secure any loose outdoor items before the winds begin, and also remove items from flood-prone areas.
