Made in the American Shade

There is a lot more to see on our boardwalk and beach when I look carefully. The point of it is to be present. Not to be mind-lost in shopping needs or election news or beach pass prices…or loves lost.

As the years pass for me I've become much more aware of the simple pleasure all around me. I was too "busy" to see them. I hope you see them earlier than I.

While biking a couple of days ago I was happy to find our recent oystercatcher hatchlings in the shade of a yellow refuse container. I was able to get some pretty close shots while they enjoyed the cool respite.

In appreciating these fuzzy tykes and all the simple natural wonders around me, it brought out a better focus for me…a focus on freedom in America:
