Major Construction To Start Next Week On National Boulevard
The entire project that includes work on West Park Avenue and East Pine Street is expected to be completed in February.

LONG BEACH, NY — Residents should anticipate construction work to start the week of July 26 along National Boulevard.
It's the first part of a major project that will bring significant drainage improvements along National Boulevard, West Park Avenue and East Pine Street, the city said on its website.
The improvements to National Boulevard include replacing concrete curbs, crosswalks and street lighting. The overhaul also features the installation of a new subsurface storm sewer drainage system to better handle flooding.

The entire project, weather permitting, is scheduled for completion in February 2022.
Periodic closures are possible during working hours, but streets will be open to vehicles and pedestrians at the end of each day, the Department of Public Works said in a letter to residents.
