Moor Worries

Usually a stroll on our Long Beach shore is a leisurely endeavor, a serene trek. But sometimes, unexpected drama can unfold right before our eyes.

Long Beach, NY has a primed and ready army of rescuers to come to the aid of people in distress, all kinds of distress.

Most of us don’t come upon the rescuers very often. Sure you see and hear about car accidents, and fires. And our Long Beach Emergency Staff respond quickly and efficiently to them often.

But the Lifeguards, the Fire Dept, the Police, also respond regularly to the injured or the likely to be injured. People like the jetty walkers who are just slippery steps away from washing out to sea or the swimmers who jump in when lifeguards are off duty and risk drowning. Sadly, it does happen.
