Narcan Training Seminar Coming to Nassau
Session to address growing epidemic of heroin use and abuse as well as training on administering life-saving antidote.

A Narcan training session is set for this month in Hempstead.
Nassau County is partnering with the Mental Health Association to host a free Lifesaving Narcan Training Seminar for all residents on Sept. 23. The session will take place at the Mental Health Association at 16 Main Street from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
The seminar and training session will teach residents about overdosing and administration of Narcan, an antidote used to reverse overdoses.

In Nassau County, police reported several overdoses where Narcan was administered, once by a mother who had a kit ready.
