Nassau County Junior Firefighters Association to Unveil New Monument
The event will take place this weekend in honor of the Junior Firefighters Association's 10th anniversary.

EAST MEADOW, NY - In honor of the 10th anniversary of the Nassau County Junior Firefighters Association, a new Junior Firefighters monument will be unveiled at Eisenhower Park this weekend.
The event will take place at the East Meadow park on Parking Field 7A on Sunday, May 15 starting at 10:00 a.m.
All firefighters, including the Junior Firefighters Association, will dress in their Class A uniforms and a color guard of six teenaged Association officers will raise their flags over the monument site.

The officers will also assist County Executive Edward Mangano in uncovering the new structure, accompanied by a Nassau County Firefighters Pipes and Drums Band piper.
Board Member and 2015 Past President of the Association, 17-year-old Kelly Hastings, a Massapequa Explorer, will serve as Master of Ceremonies.

The Terrazzo stone monument was fully paid for by donations from many organizations, companies and individuals including Nassau County fire departments, fire organizations, fire associations, junior and Explorer groups, friends and family members.
Among the attendees, special guests will include Nassau County Chief Fire Marshal Scott Tusa, Parks Commissioner Bryan Nugent, and Deputy Parks Commissioner Frank Camerlengo.
The East Norwich Fire Company and Plainview Fire Department will use two aerial-ladder fire trucks to create a towering arch with the ladders to display a huge American flag 100 feet in the air at the site of the memorial, on Park Boulevard.
