Nassau Family Honored For Aiding Hurricane Harvey Victims
The Kramers, who were victims of Hurricane Sandy, organized massive relief efforts for Texas residents.

A Long Beach family was welcomed to the Assembly Chamber in Albany recently by Assemblywoman Melissa Miller to honor them for the work they did helping victims of Hurricane Harvey.
Miller invited Tim Kramer, his wife Christina Tisi-Kramer and their sons, Chase and Cooper, to the capital recently. The Kramers, themselves victims of Hurricane Sandy, organized massive relief efforts for Texas residents in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. More than five tractor trailers were packed with supplies and tens of thousands of dollars worth of gift cards. The Kramers also helped raise $30,000 to cover the truck's trip to Texas.
“In a world where there seems to be so much negativity, it is wonderful to see people lending a hand to those in need without a second thought,” said Miller. “When the Kramers saw the destruction Harvey caused in Texas, they immediately knew they had to find some way to help, having experienced the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy in 2012. When Sandy hit our community almost six years ago, we received a variety of help from all over the country. Seeing residents of Long Beach and the surrounding areas come together to pay it forward by helping those who are going through such a difficult time, is truly an inspiration. They are excellent examples of what it means to be gracious and proud New Yorkers.”
