Nassau Man Arrested With 4,000 Pills: Police

Police say they found him after investigating another fatal drug overdose.

An Oceanside man was arrested Wednesday night after police say they connected him to a fatal drug overdose.

According to police, the investigation into the fatal overdose led to the arrest of Brendon F. Mueller, 24, of Davis Street. According to police, on Nov. 8, Mueller was in possession of alprazolam pills with the intent to sell them. Alprazolam (or Xanax) is a sedative used to treat panic and anxiety disorders.

Mueller was arrested at 7 p.m. on Atlantic Avenue in Oceanside. After his arrest, police say they recovered 4,000 Alprazolam pills from his car.

Mueller is charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
