Not-So-Little, Little Leaguer
We have golden messengers amongst us. They have so many beautiful things to express—by what they do.

Most of you who trek our boards know Gregg LaPenna.
He’s the hard working man who owns and operates, newly named, Lazar’s Glizzy, (formerly Shakes and Shuckers) at Lincoln Ave on the boardwalk.
Gregg also is part owner in the Beach Burger at Grand Ave. and the Shack at Pacific. And when he’s not working at his main stand at Lincoln or hauling supplies from Costco, he’s coaching Little League kids. I and many others don’t know how he does it.

But most of you know by now that Gregg and his family were pierced with the unimaginable loss of their ten-year-old son, Lazar. It happened on Apr 29th, last year.
Lazar’s death, tragic though it was, may be helpful in keeping other kids alive. That’s because when looked at carefully we see that messages are being sent out, by his teammates, his neighbors, his family and friends, and other Long Beach business owners.

Lazar's death calls attention to those messages, it calls attention to errors made, and the messages those errors send, here in Long Beach—and America.
Life is all about messages. We send good ones and some not so good.
I wrote about messages here:
