Optical Delusions

When shorebirds' nests are endangered I see red. This time...all over my face.

Maybe I have too much time on my hands. Or maybe, as I move deeper in my golden years, I see life, mine as well as all life, more precious. But that might make me more prone to hasty conclusions when I think that tiny creatures are threatened.

These possibilities might explain my recent display of impulsive action followed by complete embarASSment.

Many of you know by reading my posts that I have great feelings for the little feathered friends that nest on our Long Beach shore. You may also know that I belong to a wonderful Facebook group called the Long Beach Oystercatcher Chronicles. https://tinyurl.com/OC-Chrn

Well, recently I had a perception failure that led me to post, on that F/B site, some fake news. News that distressed many, angered others, and brought hard working beach maintenance staff some bitter tongue lashings.

Basically, I screwed up. And this post is to offer a sincere apology to all.
