Police Searching for Freeport Purse Snatcher
Man stole woman's bag as she was walking Sunday evening near Sunrise Highway, police said.

Nassau Police are searching for a man they say robbed a woman on a Freeport street Sunday evening.
The victim, 53, was walking near Henry Street and Newton Boulevard at 5:22 p.m. when a man approached her from behind. He forcibly stole her handbag and fled east on Sunrise Highway, police said. The victim’s handbag contained cash, credit cards, and personal papers.
The victim was reportedly uninjured.

The subject was described as a black man in his early 20s, 5-foot-10, and was wearing a red and black hooded sweater at the time.
Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
