Power Outage Strikes Thousands in Long Beach
Power restored after widespread outage in Long Beach Monday morning.

Power has reportedly been restored to most of Long Beach after an outage struck more than 9,000 people Wednesday morning.
According to PSEG Long Island, 9,390 of its customers in Long Beach were affected by the outage. About 20 people were affected in nearby Atlantic Beach and Lido Beach Wednesday as well.
Most of the outages affected residents near the Long Beach Long Island Rail Road station with scattered incidents in the surrounding areas, according to PSEG’s outage map. The map may take time to update, according to Newsday.

Wednesday’s outage was caused by a faulty electrical supply cable near West Park Avenue and National Boulevard, according to Newsday.
The outage was the second within two days in Long Beach.

About 3,400 residents were in the dark Tuesday night, according to city officials. Tuesday’s outage came after an issue with a bus differential and was repaired within 34 minutes, according to Newsday.
