We’ve been seeing and hearing it, the immense dredge offshore, the pounding of piles, the groaning roar of bulldozers, the sloshing of slurry. But what are some of the details of this beach renovation?

I’ve looked into it a bit and was amazed at some of the particulars. But I was even more astounded with all the parts of this project joined in motion like a symphony of synergy: The Army Corps of Engineers, the Dept of Environmental Conservation and all the working subcontractors, pulling together to get the job done and to protect our shorebirds.

What we have here is once in a lifetime opportunity to see history being made, the twenty teens renovation of our Long Beach shore. And we have a 2.2 mile balcony from which to witness it.
