Safe Ports, in This Sea of Insanity

Do you have a safe port in these nor'easters of news? I was in my safe port as I captured one of you in yours.

We all hear the nasty news on TV, read it in the newspapers, hear it online. Sometimes it overwhelms us.

Some of us have safe ports in this sea of insanity, our hobbies, our interests, our jobs…if we are so lucky.

If you don’t have a safe port it might be a good idea to find one. It a stress reliever, for sure but it’s also the best way to LIVE.

You need to find something that that you enjoy, that takes you to a moment, an individual moment in which to be fully present. A place where all else does not exist.

As David Hawkins said, “This moment is the only reality that is being experienced; all else is an abstraction and a mental construct. Therefore, one cannot actually live for 70 years at all; only this exact fleeting moment is possible.” (Along the Path to Enlightenment)

I go to moments on our boardwalk, our beach, our sea, and find joy there. I suspect I’ve come across one or two of you there too, in your own moments.

Recently I did come upon one of you so obviously in his moment that I wrote a blog post about the experience and even made a music-photo-video of the day. I think you might feel his joy in it. And possibly, your own:
