Sandy 10 Years Later: Long Beach Holds Day Of Service

Charitable events are being organized for Saturday to remember the devastation and strength from neighbors.

LONG BEACH, NY — It is 10 years since Superstorm Sandy pummeled the East Coast. Long Beach was hit especially hard by tidal waves, beach erosion and property damage.

The city of Long Beach is asking residents to have a Day of Service to remember the difficult day and its aftermath.

On Saturday, Oct. 29, in marking the anniversary, the city has some suggestions for making a difference.
