Small Things
Some TV news is so horrific it tends to damage our minds, our souls. What to do?

We’ve all seen the horrors of Syria, some of us only through hands spread out over faces or maybe over clenched fists. Such video footage explodes in my heart like a barrel bomb. What could possibly justify this? Or so many other murders, of so many others “styles” on this planet?
To focus too much on this madness is to invite mental illness on our own psyche. Sure it must be dealt with and it will…one way or another.
In the meantime I think greater focus needs to be brought to the little things, the “small things”, that lighten our hearts, that brighten our day.

They are all around us, of course. But some of us too often let them get lost in the fog of insanity. Or if we do notice them we don’t give them the weight they are due.
Maybe we all need to try giving more notice to the “Small Things”:
