St. Patrick's Day Parade

It's only a fifty five minute ride from Long Beach to Penn Station, the heart of Manhattan, the heart of the world.

And so many of the world's, and America's skin colors came together to just have fun. So many wearing green, laughing, marching, singing too.

Does my heart good to see it.

Now, I always hated to hear sentences that started with, "When I was a boy..." but really when I was young there wasn't the openness of so many groups to come together on St. Patrick's Day. But here they were, light skinned to olive, to dark and you couldn't really feel differences in any of them. They were multi-hued skins but all of ONE green heart. Just coming tougher to just have fun. And that's a pretty damn good thing to do.
