Taking a Look at "Taking a Knee"

I’ve given much thought to the latest controversy of taking a knee. My initial reaction was, “That’s awful, that’s disrespectful.”

But after giving it much thought I believe it’s a chance to look at it for deeper meaning.

The “take a knee" protest was largely the kneeler’s response to police killing of civilians. And he chose to take a stand or rather a “kneel” on the subject when the National Anthem was played.

I was a Marine, also a cop, so I think I need to say something about the controversy. You might not agree with my perspective and that is fantastic. That’s what America is about, freedom of thought, freedom of expression of those thoughts.

That’s what I did here.
