Trio Arrested with Drugs After High-Speed Chase
Investigation led to the discovery of pills, believed to be oxycodone, as well as cocaine and marijuana.
Three people were arrested after a high-speed chase on Lido Boulevard Saturday night and allegedly found with numerous drugs on them.
According to Nassau County detectives, around 11:08 p.m., Long Beach Police officers attempted to conduct a vehicle stop of a gray 2009 Infiniti. The driver sped away and Fourth Precinct police officers then observed the vehicle driving erratically at a high rate of speed, in excess of 100 MPH, while headed eastbound on Lido Boulevard.
The driver then turned northbound onto the Loop Parkway, passing a steady red light at a high rate of speed, police said. The driver was observed weaving in and out of traffic on the parkway before crossing the median and traveling northbound in the southbound lanes. The vehicle then came to a stop at an open draw bridge where police made the arrests.

According to police, subsequent investigation led to the discovery of 37 blue pills in the vehicle's console that are believed to be oxycodone, as well as cocaine and marijuana in an open knapsack. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Maryland.
The operator of the vehicle, Tariq Qazi, 25, of Elmhurst, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, first-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, DWAI, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving and 19 vehicle and traffic violations.

Malissa Chester, 22, of Jamaica, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana.
Maher Fadl, 22, of Middle Village, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Qazi will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday. Chester and Fadl will be arraigned on Monday.
