Veterans' Support? Not Too Rare!
Some days stick in your mind for life, I had one of those recently, it was a most memorable Memorial Day.

Sometimes it’s the simple things that make a moment memorable.
As I bike or trek our Long Beach boards these days I notice the changes, on the boards for sure, but in the air too. One not only detects the salt, the sunscreen, but also the scent of raw ipe lumber, the hint of sawdust mixing with the briny air as the Army Corps of Engineers finishes up our dune crossovers.
Change was in the air. The day will come when many of our young will recall these bygone days "when they rebuilt our Long Beach boardwalk."

Change is always among us. Change in structures, in personal lives, in ourselves.
This Memorial Day I’ll remember just a simple dinner. A late lunch at Outback Steakhouse where Cheryl and I enjoyed the presence of my brother, Rod and the details that went with that experience. We need to notice the details, that’s the foundation of rich memories, the details.
